Day 19: A blustery nine

19 Jan

day 19

Ominous looking, isn’t it?!  My Saturday morning long run dictated 9 miles for this week.  I cringed as I mapped out  my run because of the heavy winds being reported outside.  I tried to map out the run so I could get the wind at my back more often than not; however, that was not in the cards.  I think about 95% of the run was filled with headwinds, sidewinds, and any other wind out there. Every turn I took, every direction I switched, the wind seemed to always be in my face.  It was so strong at one point, that I felt like I was running up an incline. Good training for the blustery seaside run in Hyannis.  All in all, it was a pretty decent run.  I had to keep pushing my mind to stay in the game, as after mile one, I couldn’t wait to finish.  This photo was snapped at about mile five (from Memorial Drive).
